A Creative Escape with a Lasting Impact
“I think many people are looking for ways to connect and be inspired, especially as we get older. Post-pandemic life finds us increasingly distant from like-minded peers and mentors. I think this experience will be a hit,” says Caldera’s Executive Director, Kimberly Howard Wade.
“With this retreat, it’s a time to get inspired, awaken (or reawaken) your creative voice, all while supporting Caldera’s award-winning youth programs. It’s a win-win—enriching our guests with a unique experience while launching new ambassadors for Caldera’s core mission into the world.”
About Caldera
Caldera, Oregon’s first recipient of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, was founded in 1996 by Dan Wieden (co-founder of global ad agency Wieden+Kennedy) and his family. Caldera believes creativity is explosive, mischievous, sometimes dangerous, sometimes beautiful, introspective, and delightful—a powerful force that can expand the world of youth, adults, and anyone open to its magic. Through creative engagement, individuals can harness this power to change their world—and perhaps, the entire world.
Caldera’s youth program best functions in relation to Caldera’s overall creative ecosystem, a constellation that includes learners, mentors, and artists and creatives. Mentors provide dependable support, using creative activities as a tool to explore identity and connection, while artists and creatives build on that groundwork to infuse artistic exploration and skill building.
