FAQ

Got questions? We've got answers.

Hearth Festival is an invitation to experience Caldera firsthand.

Throughout the year, Caldera inspires and supports youth from underserved rural and urban communities by awakening the potential of their creative voice. Hearth Festival opens that same spirit of creativity to the broader community, giving people of all ages a chance to create, explore, connect, and experience what makes Caldera special.

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, Hearth Festival is also a chance to celebrate where we've been and invite our community into what comes next.

Yes. Hearth Festival is completely free and open to the community. No tickets or registration are required.

Yes. Hearth Festival is designed for people of all ages, with hands-on activities and creative experiences to enjoy throughout the day. We recommend that children stay with a parent or guardian throughout the event.

You can join us anytime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. You don't need to stay for the entire festival, and re-entry is welcome if you need to leave and come back.

Maker Stations are hands-on opportunities to explore your creativity through different art forms, materials, and activities. They're designed for a range of ages and experience levels, and all Maker Stations are free.

Planning Your Visit

Yes. Parking is available onsite, and we encourage guests to carpool when possible.

We recommend comfortable walking shoes, layers, a reusable water bottle, and weather-appropriate items such as sunscreen or rain gear.

Be sure to check the weather before heading to Hearth Festival and dress appropriately for the day's conditions.

If rain, wildfire smoke, severe weather, or other conditions require changes to Hearth Festival, we'll share updates as soon as possible through our website, email, social media, and other communication channels.

Restrooms, accessible restrooms, drinking water, baby-changing areas, and seating and rest areas will be available onsite.

Cell service and Wi-Fi are limited at Caldera. We recommend downloading directions and any important event information you may need before arriving.

There are several lodging options in and around Sisters, including hotels, lodges, resorts, vacation rentals, and camping options — a few nearby favorites are Left Coast Lodge, Black Butte Ranch, Suttle Lodge, Sisters Inn and Suites, and Best Western Ponderosa Lodge.
